This stage of reading is primarily focused on phoneme awareness, letter recognition, and letter writing. 

Beginning Literacy

This stage of reading focuses on  creating meaningful ways for children to remember vowel correspondences.

Growing Independence and Fluency

This stage of reading is concerned with fluency and comprehension. 

Reading to Learn

This stage of reading is where students are expanding sight word vocabulary as well as learning reading comprehension strategies. 

About Me

Hello! My name is Cate Behl and I am a sophomore at Auburn University. I am studying Elementary Education and am currently in a reading instruction course. The purpose of this website is to display my lesson plans. Lessons for emergent literacy, beginning literacy, fluency, and comprehension. These lessons are for young readers and reading teachers!
